Opentext Discovery and UCMDB form a modern Configuration Management System (CMS). Opentext Discovery (UD) gives you end-to-end visibility into both cloud and on- premise services, and CMS forms the basis for Asset Management for both hardware and software .

Opentext Discovery gathers information from all standard operating systems, applications, network and storage devices, including cloud and virtualization platforms such as AWS, Azure , Google Cloud , VMWare , Kubernetes , OpenShift , Nutanix . Universal Discovery can also gather information about network devices and PCs.

Opentext Discovery (UD) can be installed on- premise or on cloud platforms , and collects data both agentless (for overview) and using agents for more detailed information, including license usage and which software is active (not just installed).
